Minori, The Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel: Harvesting Authentic Japanese Dining, Wining and Socializing Experience at the Brand New Minori!

“If it’s not perfectly prepared, it’s not leaving the kitchen -- a personal philosophy and commitment Executive Chef Hideaki Nakajima holds dearly.

The invasion of Japanese continues as the latest Japanese gastronomic kid in town to hit the PJ scene is the brand new Minori located at The Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel. All spotlights converged on the newly-opened Minori at the night of the launch on September 19th after a month-long renovation with a staggering RM2million investment in the restaurant.

Graced by corporate movers and shakers, gastronomic connoisseurs, well-loved celebrities and media, the launch was certainly filled with much mingling and laughter that night. Kicking off the event, Focus Point Holdings Bhd President and CEO Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang presented a speech where he stressed on the authenticity of Minori.

Minori simply means ‘harvest’, intended to mirror the passion, diligence, dedication and time to create the finest Japanese cuisine.  Just as a farmer patiently grows a bountiful harvest from a handful of seeds, Minori applies traditional Japanese culinary values to provide a fine Japanese gastronomic experience to guests.

Drumming off to a great start, we were treated to a magnificent Japanese drum performance by Wadaiko Syo! Established four years ago in Malaysia, it is the only Japanese drum group in Southeast Asia. The performance filled the night with great energy and astounding drum acoustic.

Following the performance, Dato’ Liaw performed a traditional Japanese opening ceremony by igniting Minori with ‘Kagami-Biraki’, breaking open a sake barrel with a wooden mallet to signify an opening to harmony and good fortune for the restaurant.

Helmed by Executive Chef Hideaki Nakajima, the true-blood Japanese food mastro and culinary master with 20 years’ experience believes in preserving the authenticity of every dish to treat guests with a true taste of Japan.  Chef Nakajima’s culinary prowess has been recognized by the prestigious Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards, Malaysia Series for Best Executive Chef and Best Asian Cuisine Chef for 2010 - 2012.

The restaurant décor was very chic and stylish with lots of dark cherry wood and flashes of bright colors. A wall showcasing Sake bottles were a sight to behold. The restaurant is also sectioned off for private dining experience. A long sushi bar graced the entrance while guests check out the freshest catch of the day!

Guests were treated to a luscious spread of Japanese buffet while sakes and bubblies filled the night with lots of laughter and entertainment.

Boasting an astounding menu filled with over 200 items from Japanese classics to unique dishes, Minori is aim to please even the fussiest of palates. Savor fresh Sashimi and Sushi to luscious noodles, tempura, soups, appetizers, salads and more from Chef Hideaki’s repertoire. Minori -- “The soul of traditional Japan served in style” will draw people from all walks of life but share a common route for good wholesome Japanese cuisine.
