Noble Offerings for New Lunar Year


The Oriental Group of Restaurants is out to make headlines again this New Lunar Year! Executive Chef Justin Hor and his culinary team never fails to curate sumptuous Chinese New Year menus every year. Diners can expect nothing but the very best of ingredients coupled with the talents of the Chef Hor and his culinary brigade.



We caught up with Chef Hor at Noble Mansion for a sneak preview of this year’s finest Chinese New Year menu to usher in the Year of the Rat. Noble Mansion, the exclusive Chinese mansion inspired restaurant, serves delicacies of Shunde, the renowned food province in Guangzhou. Expect premium and fresh ingredients prepared with fine culinary methods, served in an elegant and grandeur ambiance. Diners can opt to dine in the main dining room or any of their large private rooms available.

Going all out, this year’s prosperity Yee Sang takes on the King of Crab in Alaskan Spider Crab Vegetable Yee Sang (RM198 – medium | RM298 – large). It may just be the dish of year if one is set out to impress your dining companions!

CNY Menu 2020 @ Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel Petaling Jaya



Merriment of Spring



Usher in the Year of the Rat with a Merriment of Spring Feast at Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant at One World Hotel Petaling Jaya. Zuan Yuan has been a constant favorite Chinese restaurant for authentic Cantonese specialties as well as dainty morsels of dim sum.



The beautiful grandeur interior is perfect for fine dining entertainment and offers a seating capacity of 380 pax. The main dining room is spacious, and all decked out in a gold and black theme with majestic chandeliers and even includes a stage as well as sights of open kitchen. There are quite a few private rooms available as well.


For this year’s festive menu, Executive Chinese Chef Tommy Choong Chan Hoo and his culinary brigade has curated three festive set menus as well as a la carte dishes and dim sum for diners to choose from. Using the finest local ingredients for the festivity along with premium ingredients, the festive menus are filled with glorious dishes that represents the joyous New Lunar Year celebrations with family, friends and business acquaintances.


This year’s Full of Cheer Yee Sang menu offers six variations of the obligatory dish. One that particularly stood out was the Yee Sang with Alaskan Scallop, Crispy Fish Skin, Black Truffle Paste & Crystal Pear.

A new Lunar year of celebration begins with feasting! To usher is the Year of the Rat, Dorsett Grand Subang serves up a banquet feast fit for royalty at The Emperor Chinese Restaurant. The acclaimed Muslim-friendly Chinese Restaurant is helmed by award-winning Chinese Executive Chef Bryan Teh whose repertoire consist authentic Chinese aged-old dishes and contemporary creations.


Chef Bryan Teh most recent acclaimed accomplishments include a Gold Medal from the Shanghai International Top Chefs Invitation competition; Gold with Distinction Medal from the 2019 Malaysia World Elite Chefs Championship for Individual Hot Dish, Gold Medal from 2019 Asian Culinary Exchange competition in Japan and a Silver Medal from the 2019 World Master Chefs competition for Cantonese Cuisine held in Macau. CNY Menu 2020 @ Still Waters, Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur



Ushering in Lunar New Year with Chinese and Japanese Cuisine



Located on one of the busiest streets in the city, Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur is joining in the festive Chinese New Year cheer with offerings of Chinese set menus and Festive Yee Sang menu at their contemporary dining venue at Still Waters.



This pork free eatery features Japanese cuisine fused with European and Asian flavours as well as contemporary Cantonese inspired cuisine by their talented Chef Meng, Chef Zainurin bin Mohd Salleh and culinary team. Set is a modern contemporary design; Still Waters also has a private dining area available in addition to their main dining area flanked by the serene sounds of waterfall backdrop.


For the festive CNY set menu, reservations are a must. Still Waters offer three CNY Set Menus starting from RM888nett to RM1388nett per table of 10 persons. CNY Yee Sang menu is also available with 5 options of yee sang with assorted seafood.

We had a sneak preview of various dishes from the three set menus. The dishes are generous in portions and beautifully presented.


First up, a Japanese Yee Sang with Condiments to usher in the festive season with a Japanese twist. The bountiful platter is filled with salmon slices, salmon roes, fish roes, seasoned baby octopus,  jelly fish, Japanese seasoned seaweed salad, Japanese fish cake, Japanese crab stick, cucumber, pickled radish, crisp greens, pickled ginger, crushed nuts and crunchy pok chui. The yee sang sauce is Chef Zainurin’s own concoction of plum sauce along with Japanese sesame sauce.

A New Lunar Year signifies new beginnings. Le Meridien Putrajaya is set to usher in the festive Chinese New Year with a specially curated menu to bring diners togethers for sumptuous gatherings. Le Mei, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, is well-known for exquisite contemporary Chinese dining. Step into a fine and elegant ambiance of traditional Chinese art and culture while savoring fine Chinese cuisine this festive season.


Le Mei welcomes a new Chinese Executive Chef Lim Kian Meng this festive season. Diners are in for a gorgeous festive menu as Chef Lim brings a repertoire of over 20 years of culinary experience from his international stints from Macau, Russia and Malaysia. His contributions to his culinary team in Bi Ying Restaurant was key in the outlet being awarded the Recommended Restaurant by GHM Cordon Bleu in Hong Kong in 2016. The following year, Chef Lim was once again instrumental in Bi Ying Restaurant being awarded the Recommended Restaurant in 2017 Michelin Guide Hong Kong/Macau 2017,

When asked what inspired his festive set menu this year for Le Mei, Chef Lim concurred that festive get togethers are made even better with comfort flavours. Hence this year’s menu features classic and comfort flavours to celebrate the warmth of many family and friends get togethers.
