The Mill Café, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur: Berbuka Puasa with Gemersik Selera at Mill Café!

“Lemak Suara Merdu Germesik Indah Rupa Laksana Bulan”

This year The Mill Café ushers in Ramadan with a sumptuous and delectable spread to be savoured with your loved ones, family and friends. Savour authentic Malay delicacies, succulent barbecue and seafood delights and of course their famous roast lamb!

Catch a glimpse of the luscious local and international fusion offerings at The Mill Café, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur this holy month. No longer a stranger here, I was pleased to see the familiar spread of dishes in addition to the authentic Malay dishes at The Mill. For the other local and international spread of dishes at The Mill Café, check out my previous post here and here.

Feast your taste buds to the Chef’s signature dish such as Oven Roasted Whole Lamb served with Rosemary Hollandaise and Mint Sauce. Tender and aromatic, the lamb was well scented with lots of spices and herbs, making it good enough without the sauce!

A hot warmer provided much heat to the sumptuous array of Aneka Gorengan! Spice-marinated Sotong Kunyit, Burung Puyuh and Ayam Berempah are simply a must for its aromatic and tasty flavors of the poultry and seafood. These were one of the popular dishes as they were gone in a jiffy.

Hitting the Kerabu section, one can expect authentic Kerabu salad like Kerabu Perut, Kerabu Kacang Panjang, Kerabu Mangga Muda and Kerabu Jantung Pisang. The salads are really as traditional as its gets as these quite hard to find them nowadays. It’s an explosion of flavors in each Kerabu!

Another well-known dish is Nasi Kerabu served with the delectable salted egg. Scented with loads of herbs, the rice salad has a burst of salty flavors to whet one’s appetites.

After a whole day of fasting, one should definitely start off the meal with hot Sup Ekor! With a base broth filled with beefy bones and meat, the earthy flavors are guaranteed to warm your tummies.

Main dishes features Sayur Lodeh, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Ayam Percik, Rendang Udang Berkerisik and Lamb Kofta. High on the list is Lamb Kofta, lamb meatballs cooked in a luscious tomato curry. Make sure to take a few pieces of hot Naan bread to mop up the sauce. Sayur Lodeh and Ikan Parin Masak Tempoyak were creamy and savory while the Ayam Percik and Randang Udang Berkerisik leaned towards a spicier flavor and aroma.

On the table was also a huge mountain of Keropok and Poppadum for that extra crunch! Feeling tired and exhausted? Perk up your appetites with Jeruk Mangga Muda, Kedondong and Cermai Arabic Dates.

Then head on to the dessert bar for local Kuih Muihs, Pisang Goreng, Sukun Goreng, Cempedak Goreng and Semolina Milk Pudding. International desserts and fruits are also available on the list. Savor Pengat Nangka or Tab Tim Grob for a sweet ending!

Other peeks at other offerings of international favorites!
