Feast on a Plethora of Authentic Dishes this Puasa Month at Cinnamon Coffee House!
Returning for another round, this time with the coming holy month of Puasa, I was greeted with a kaleidoscope of local and international favorites at Cinnamon Coffee House, One World Hotel Petaling Jaya. Aptly themed Warisan Bonda, embark on a Berbuka Puasa culinary journey of savouring mom’s home-cooked recipes at Cinnamon throughout the month of July and August.
An award-winning restaurant, Cinnamon is proud to showcase a melting pot of dishes closes to our hearts during festive season of the coming Hari Raya! Check out the glimpse of the Berbuka Puasa Warisan Bonda spread and let’s not forget that the list of dishes is almost endless at Cinnamon!
Start your journey at the Salad Corner where you can make your own Rojak Buah or Caesar Salad; as well as garden greens with selection of dressings.
Savouries and pickles are also offered and these include Tempeh, Ikan Bilis Berlada, Paru Goreng, Ikan Masin Talang, Acar Buah, Acar Rampai, Ikan Masin Sepat, Jeruk Kedondong, Jeruk Mangga Muda, Jeruk Pala and more.
A wide range of Malaysian Sambals like Sambal Tempoyak, Sambal Budu, Sambal Belacan, Sambal Cincaluk, Sambal Hijau, Sambal Mangga Pedas and list goes on.
Not to be missed is the Aneka Kerabu Station serving Urap Pegagap Sari, Kerabu Kaki Ayam, Kerabu Udang with Glass Noodle, Kerabu Mangga Bunga Kantan and Urap Taugeh Ulam Raja. Kerabu Telur was delicious while Tauhu Sambal really whets the appetites from more!
The main star of the feast is a glorious Roasted New Zealand Whole Lamb marinated in authentic Malay spices and served with special sauces.
Hot buffets featuring main Warisan Bonda spread includes classics Ayam Kicap Limau Kasturi, Kambing Kari Teluk Gong, Kupang Sambal Cili Tempoyak, Siput Sedut Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Ayam Kari Kapitan, Ikan Bawal Percik Tambak Johor, Peria Tumis Permata, Udang Rendang Selat Tebrau, Ketam Masak Padang, Gulai Patin Tempoyak Pahang, Rendang Daging Kuala Pilah and lots more.
My favorites are classics like Lemang, Ketupat Palas, Nasi Himpit, Serunding Ayam and Serunding Ayam. Nothing beats creamy spicy Rendang or Serunding with soft lemang!
Another perennial Malay classic is Nasi Kerabu with Ikan Masin, Telur Masin and Sambals. A rice salad filled with aromatic herbs, fragrant salted fish, salted egg and pungent spicy sambals will definitely leave a footprint in your mouth!
Cinnamon Coffee House features live cooking stations for Aneka Panggang ‘Serantau’, Mee Jawa, Satay, Roti John, Dim Sum, Malaysian Hawker Fare, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Yong Tau Foo, Popiah Basah, Roti Canai, Murtabak, Indian Curries and Middle East Specialities to add on to your dining pleasure. Lots of hawker fares are featured on a rotation basis each day.
A buffet favorite is the Japanese bar where Sashimi, Sushi and Japanese dishes awaits its guest. My platter of fresh Salmon, Tuna, White Tuna, and Octopus was simply divine! Adored the mini sampling appetizers and salads at this bar while the Deep Blue Seafood on Ice features Fresh Oysters, Chilled Prawns and Crabs are simply a must at any buffets!
Sip on a hot cup of Pulled Nescafe or Teh Tarik! Juices, Cordials and Kurma Juice are also available chilled.
Make sure to save room for Desserts! An endless list of local Kuih Muih, Kurma, Malay Cookies to international favorites of Mousse, Cakes, Puddings to Crepes and even their speciality Teppanyaki Ice Cream!!
