Authentic Kampung Flavours Buffet Dinner

Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur has long been a popular choice for dining in the city. The Melting Pot Café at the hotel is renowned for their sumptuous buffet spread and beginning June 6 till July 5, a Buka Puasa feast of Ala-Ala Kampung will have diners enjoy authentic kampong style dishes.


Back with a myriad of breaking fast delights, Executive Sous Chef Azlan Juri and his assistants – Chef Marubah Amran and Chef Rogayah Sharif will be whipping up their family authentic recipes of mouth-watering dishes. Savor dishes of childhood memories from various states of our nation featured in four different rotational menus daily at Melting Pot Café.


Starting off as always with a splendid Whole Roasted Lamb or Kambing Panggang marinated with lots of spices and stuffed with spiced rice and some tasty Black Pepper sauce and Mint Sauce. Tender and succulent lamb with aromatic spices is always a favorite during breaking fast.


Sup Gear Box is simply a must to warm up the tummy after a day of fasting. The spice laden broth is soothing with delicious and aromatic flavours of beefy broth as well as the spices and herbs. Add on a splash of spicy Kicap Sambal for extra kicks while enjoying the velvety richness of the bone marrow. Besides the Sup Gear Box, there will be other soups as well as the authentic Bubur Lambuk.


Diners may want to ease in the meal with Assorted Kerabus, Ulams and Sambals to open up the palate before enjoy other dishes. The list of Kerabu is amazing from Kerabu Taugeh, Kerabu Kacang Panjang, Kerabu Paru, Jelatah Timun Nenas, Kerabu Hati Ayam, Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu Kacang Botol Kepala Parut, Kerabu Telur Masin to the spread of Pecal Kampung and Serunding.






A gorgeous centerpiece of Ulam-Ulaman with piquant Sambal Belachan, Budu, Air Asam, Tempoyak, Cincaluk and more goes well the assorted Keropok and Kerepek by its side.




Buffet warmers are filled with pots of glorious curries and dishes to go with hearty Nasi Tomato or steamed rice. Savor Ayam Lemak Pucuk Ubi, Kambing Masak Cik Putih, Daging Masak Merah, Gulai Urat Belimbing Bulih, Tumis Pucuk Manis dengan Keledek, Sambal Tumis Sotong, Sayur Lemak Nangka Ikan Masin. Kacang Panjang Tumis Udang Kering, Sambal Kering Tempe Ikan Bilis, Telur Dadah and more.








My personal favorites include the Rendang Tok, Kari Ikan Sempol, Ayam Goreng Berempah and Ketam Bercili. Such robust flavours and tender textures that calls for returns of helpings…



Don’t forget to visit the live action stations to savor a spicy treat of Udang Galah Berlado!




Besides the local Malay dishes, there is also Steamed Black Mussels with Creamy Taragon, Roasted Chicken with Barbequed Sauce and other international dishes on rotation daily.


There is also a Grill and Hot Plate station where diners select their choice of meat and seafood to be grilled with a delicious buttery sauce.



The noodle station on our evening features Asam Laksa and Mee Bandung. Select your choices of noodles and vegetables and let the chef do the rest!





The kaleidoscope of desserts are so amazingly pretty. Enjoy Pemanis Mulut of Kuih Tepung Talam, Kuih Sago, Kuih Bingka Ubi, Kuih Kole Kacang, Buah Melaka, Kuih Ketayap, Abuk-Abuk, Seri Muka, Pulut Panggang and more.



Visit the live action of piping hot Cucur as well as Cekodok Pisang that is sweet and creamy.


For bubur manis, there is the crowd favorite Pengat Durian dengan Pulut and Bubur Pulut Hitam.



Other international desserts include Fruits, Cakes, Puddings, Tart, Pastries and Ice Cream.








Buffet dinner ‘Ala-Ala Kampung’ is priced at RM148 nett per person. A special 15% Discount will be given on June 6 – 12 and the last three days of Ramadhan, July 3 to 5, 2016.

Buffet Sahur (every Friday & Saturday) starts from 11pm till 5am and is priced at RM80 nett per person.

There is also a new Bento ‘Sahur’ Set Menu available when you book and stay at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur during the holy month. Superior room (single/double occupancy) starts from RM278 nett per room night and the room rate includes buffet sahur for two persons.
