Chatz Brasserie Buka Puasa Buffet @ ParkRoyal Kuala Lumpur

Sarawak Selera Asli Malaysia Buffet

It’s a feast from the land of Hornbills! PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur is presenting ‘Selera Asli’ Malaysia highlighting delicacies from Sarawak at Chatz Brasserie from 18 May to 14 June, 2018. In due of the coming break fast month of Ramadhan, diners will be able to savor authentic Sarawakian dishes that will be the highlight of the main buffet line at Chatz Brasserie.

Chef Joseph Kuan and his culinary team is taking diners on a journey of authentic flavours from the land of Hornbills as well as other local and international cuisines. From live action stations to barbeque and grill, there are also plenty of prepared curries, stews, noodles, kerabu, salads, seafood and desserts to savor from.

Taking the limelight in this buffet are Sarawakian dishes such as Umai Ikan, Ikan Terubok Masin, Soup Salai Masak Terung Asam, Soup Ayam Berlada Sarawak, Bubur Pedas, Manok Pansoh, Dayak Black Pepper Beef Stew, Udang Masak Tempoyak, Manuk Kacangma, Black Pepper Bamboo Clam, Ikan Lampan Jawa Masak Terung Asam & Serai, Dabai Fried Rice and more.

For those who love tempoyak, the Udang Masak Tempoyak is pretty lethal in aroma of tempoyak as well as flavours. The Dayak Black Pepper Beef and Manok Pansoh are unique dishes that is worth a try if you haven’t had it before.

The Bubur Pedas is unique and taste like a very robust stew of spices with grains.

From Noodle stations the must-try are Ketchup Kway Teow, Sarawak Laksa, Kolo Mee and Khai Joo Lane Mee Rebus. The Ketchup Kway Teow is lovely with its thick eggy and creamy gravy over aromatic soy sauce tinted kway teow. The ketchup is rather mild and lends a mild sweetness to the kway teow. The Sarawak Laksa is delicious. The laksa gravy has just the right balance of spices and coconut milk while the sambal makes the gravy even richer and tastier.

No Sarawakian meal is complete without a taste of Kek Lapis Sarawak and Kuih Kapit Sarawak.

From the Malay corner of hot warmers, tuck into authentic Malay flavours with Gulai Siput Batang Keladi, Rendang Rusa, Asam Pedas Tetel Melaka, Ayam Percik Iftar, Ekor Asam Pedas, Ketam Borlado Nogeri Puyuh Goreng Madu, Ikan Keli Berlada, Udang Lemak Belimbing, Kambing Kurma, Ayam Kuzi and Ayam Masak Lengkuas.

The Ayam Percik Iftar is simply a must try as the chicken is beautifully flavoured from the long marinade and finished with a hot grill covered in thick creamy spicy peanut sauce.

From the hot coals of the barbeque, a Whole Roasted Lamb with Arab Rice along with skewers of marinated Beef, Lamb, Fish, Chicken and Satay awaits. There’s also freshly made Roti Canai and Murtabak with thick Dhall.

To whet the appetite when break fast, kerabu salads, ulam and sambals are the perfect dishes with their robust flavours. Highlights include Kerabu Pucuk Paku, Kerabu Soo Hoon Berudang, Kerabut Perut, Kerabu Pegaga, Kerabu Jantung Pisang, Kerabu Ayam Daun Kesom, Kerabu Mangga Muda, Kerabu Daging, Kerabu Rebung, Rojak Buah, Pecal with Peanut Gravy and more.

There’s also plenty of Ulam Ulam Mentah dan Rebus to be savored with the sambals such as Sambal Belachan, Sambal Mangga, Sambal Kelapa, Sambal Tomato, Sambal Tempoyak, Budu, Cencalok and more. There is also lots of Ikan Masin, Jeruk Buah, Telur Masin, Lemang and Serunding.
