Toss for Prosperity with Golden Prosperity Yee Sang
More festive cheers and feasting are in order as we usher in a brand new year. The Emperor of Grand Dorsett Subang is celebrating this auspicious year of Fire Monkey with a feast of three delectable 8-course set menus and Yee Sang. Chef Loh Jiunn Voon, Executive Chinese Chef from award winning The Emperor goes all out to prepare a sumptuous feast, available from 8 January to 22 February 2016, for your indulgence and feasting moments with family, friends and business associates.
The Emperor serves authentic Cantonese cuisine and has a delicious list of Cantonese dishes coupled with delectable dim sums. Set in an elegant ambiance, the restaurant has a main dining area and several private rooms. This festive season, enjoy and toss into the New Year with much deliciousness, kick starting with the must-have yee sang.
The Golden Prosperity Yee Sang is a marvelous combination of fresh salmon, silver bait fish, mango and more. Vibrant in colors as well as flavours, the luscious salmon slices contrasted nicely with the crispy silver bait fish and sweet juicy notes of the ripe mango. The rest of the ingredients did its magic as well in flavours and textures of the yee sang.
Here’s to tossing for prosperity into the New Year…
Enjoy the Golden Prosperity Yee Sang in the a la carte Yee Sang menu available together with a list of other yee sangs such as Prosperity Yee Sang with Jelly Fish 8 Fresh Fruits and Radiant Lotus Root Yee Sang. Prices of yee sang starts from RM58nett. This Chinese New Year, with every purchase of Yee Sang, guests can indulge in selected dishes for RM8.00 nett only.
The following dishes are available from the three 8-course set menus. Starting off the list is a wholesome and nutritious soup of Double-boiled Village Chicken Soup with Cordyceps Flowers, Dried Scallops & Bamboo Pith. Filled with lots of rich essence of chicken and dried scallop, the soup is simply warming and delicious.
While some may say three’s a crowd, the platter of Combo of Crispy Roasted Chicken & Duck with Marinated Jellyfish certainly isn’t! Showcasing succulent crispy roasted chicken, scrumptious rich roasted duck with crispy crackers and tasty crunchy jelly fish, it’s a platter much beloved my many.
As we always say, one can’t go wrong with classics. The Steamed Grouper “Hong Kong” style showed off the freshness and sweetness of the grouper to near perfection.
Representing the ‘Ha Ha Siew’ in the festive New Year is a gorgeous platter of Wok-fried Tiger Prawns with Curry Leaves & Lemongrass. Savory, a little sweetness, a hint of spiciness and loads of aromatic flavours of lemongrass with curry leaves, the prawns are piquant and utterly delicious.
With a crowning glory of Fatt Choy, the next dish of Braised Fish Maw with Dried Oysters & Black Mushrooms is a dish filled with many Chinese lavish ingredients. Plump briny and savory dried oysters together with other ingredients are smothered in rich dark abalone sauce. Satisfying in every bite…
For the last savory dish, we savored Steamed Lotus Leaf Rice with Diced Chicken & Yam. Rice cooked with chunks of chicken and creamy yam cubes are then wrapped in lotus leave and steamed. A classic dish that is aromatic from the distinctive lotus leaves, it’s a dish that makes you want to have a few bites even though you are already full.
Desserts were Double-boiled Fuji Apples with Snow Fungus & Honey Dates and Deep-fried Nian Gao with Mochi Green Tea Paste.
A light and healthy sweet dessert broth, the Double-boiled Fuji Apples with Snow Fungus & Honey Dates is delightful and a great one to be paired with the superb crispy Deep-fried Nian Gao. There is also soft and lightly chewy Mochi Green Tea Paste balls coated with finely crushed peanuts.
