Circus, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur: What Everyone Needs Once in a While is a Sunday Hangover Brunch!

A Tipsy Sunday with Free Flows of Champagnes, Cocktails, Wines and more!

The sky’s the limit with Circus! After much partying into the weekend or not, one should definitely enjoy a Sunday Hangover Brunch at Circus. I love it when there is such a good excuse to get tipsy on Sundays, it should be made into a ritual. Make a date with Circus to enjoy free flows of premium champagnes, cocktails, draft beers, wines, apple ciders and a luscious international spread of favorites each Sunday at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Though non-alcholic drinks are also available, trust me that Sundays are simply made better with lots of bubblies!

Under the glorious eclectic tent of Circus, the first international cuisine outlet of the Eatertainment Group, one walks into a chic and urban décor filled with lots of skylight, punchy remarks on posters, a live entertainment stage, a long chic bar and a mish mash of comfort and classy furniture.  A first visit for me, I admired Circus for its bold and brazen concept to be different. Not only does one feels truly pampered, it has a certain classy comfort that seemed to pull me into its attractive ambience completed with a LED projected city skyline of some wondrous city in the world and LED table. Circus screams funky cool!

Just like its name, Circus evolved from a casual eatery for a quick bite to a cosmopolitan restaurant at night to dine and wine for the retro fans. When dinner hours are over, guests can lounge around for live entertainment to the wee hours of the morning. As the name portrays, it simply turned into a grand show into the night where everyone can indulge in its extensive list of classics and Avant Garde alcohols from its artisan bartenders and groovy live bands. Circus’s menu boasts of a long list of international delights with bits of Fusion and lots of Spanish influence.

Armed with 3 options, one can certainly splurge on going all the way with free flow of the most lavish Dom Pérignon priced at RM868++, infamous free flow of Moet & Chandon at RM258++ or free flow of soft drinks and juices priced at RM148++. Rest assured there are plenty of selected cocktails, beer, wine that goes with the champagnes. Yes, it’s an indulgence but hey, if you’ve got plenty of vitamin Ms or simply feel like a special occasion that is deemed worthy of the grand Dom Pérignon, why not? Its great value for free flow since I was told a bottle of Dom Pérignon on the market is pricier that the brunch price itself!

*Revised pricing effective 3rd Feb 2013 onwards:

Free Flow of Soft Drinks & Juice - RM88++ per pax
Free Flow of Moet & Chandon - RM228++ per pax
Free Flow of Dom Perignon - RM868++ per pax

Definately a better excuse to visit now!

Arriving at Circus, I was greeted by iced chilled Moet & Chandon and Dom Pérignon. What a sight… it was certainly enough to make my Sunday much brighter already…

Another sight to behold is all the glorious offerings of premium champagnes available at Circus for plenty of indulgence!

While the Moet & Chandon was chilling up, a Bloody Mary was called for! Some swears by this to cure their hangover while some just find it bloody gorgeous (excuse my pun!). My salivary glands was working overtime at the sight of this cocktail. Besides Bloody Mary, there are Margarita, Mojito, Mai Tai, Gin Fizz and Whisky Sour available. If cocktails are not to your fancy, simply enjoy free flow of Somersby Apple Cider, draft beer or selected wines. Not included in the brunch, I heard that Circus also serves up molecular cocktails and mood cocktails for the adventurous.

One cannot survive alone on liquids! Chef David Caral and Chef Aldo have whipped up a quality spread of international dishes to tease your appetite while you indulge in the lavish liquids. High on the list is a beautiful spread of Spanish bites, fresh oysters and mussels and huge Gambas! With a soiree of fresh briny oysters, champagnes are the perfect partner-in-crime. The huge prawns or Gambas, as they are called in Spanish, are utterly sweet and divine.

There are also plenty of tapas while a smorgasbord of Spanish Antipasto filled with Bresaola, Salami, Smoked Duck, Cold Cuts and more are salty melt-in-the-mouth goodness. Its top-notch quality of cold cuts that is meant to be savored with some nuts and plenty of champagnes!

The varieties on the boutique Cheese Platter are fantastic. It’s a world of cheese at the mercy of your appetite. Simply served with nuts, raisins, grapes and berries, make sure to also drizzle a little honey to balance up the salty flavors of the cheese.

Mains feature warm Roasted Tenderloin, Roasted Lamb, Signature Wood Fired Pizzas, Baked Fish, Cannelloni, Roasted Vegetables and more.  Also available are eggs made to your fancy. It’s definitely a Sunday roast of comfort food. There is even a station of Risotto made upon order!

Wait, there’s more! Desserts are simply worth saving tummy space for…

Go wild and sweet with the luscious kaleidoscope of desserts such as Tiramisu, Pavlova, Fruit Tart, Opera, Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet, Cheesecake and more. I highly recommend their Tiramisu which my other friends kept raving about. At this moment, my Sunday was blissful and perfectly satiated with much indulgence!

Reasons to visit? Pure indulgence and an excuse for some serious pampering session! Circus showcases a cornucopia of quality and international dishes to tempt gourmands. Let’s not forget the free flow of premium champagnes and other liquids! Circus Sunday Hangover Brunch is available from 12 noon to 4pm every Sunday.
