The Mill, Grand Millennium KL: International Buffet Affair With An Irresistible Deal!

From Asian to Mediterranean, I just couldn’t get enough of this lovely fusion smorgasbord at The Mill, Grand Millennium, Kuala Lumpur. Thanks to another generous invite, I humbly fought my way through the city’s infamous traffic to seek out an exciting coming event that will literally ‘knock your socks off’!

Before revealing the exhilarating deal, here is a sneak preview of what’s in store at one of the city’s chic all-day dining restaurant. The Mill offers a very comforting atmosphere with an elegant and plush décor. It also features an open concept kitchen and trendy buffet style set-up.

Grand Millennium, a 5-star luxury hotel certainly impressed me with the haven of stylish yet understated chic décor. There is just a sense of warmness yet modern ambience with all its glorious chandeliers and art lightings scattered all over the 468 rooms’ hotel.

Let the international smorgasbord journey at The Mill begin…

Appetizers, Tapas, Salads and Soups

Western

A sea of fresh crustaceans was certainly a sight to behold!

Oysters were so fresh and deliciously sweet! For the month of May, The Mill is featuring an Oyster Feast, freshly imported from America! I adore oysters; hence you will see my plates piled high with these succulent mollusks in various cooking methods. I savored from Fresh on Half Shells to Cheese Gratin, Devils on Horseback to Oyster Rockefeller and more. These are available in the buffet or a la carte!

Gorgeous DIY Caesar Salad tossed in a stunning Parmesan Cheese Wheel! I want to take the cheese wheel home with me… J

European and Mediterranean

Prawn Bisque was thick and creamy with a robust aroma of prawns. Take this in small portions to enjoy its intense flavor.

Mediterranean marinated olives, cheese, tomatoes, peppers and the list goes on…

Chinese

Japanese

My favorites were the super sweet fresh scallops and succulent salmon sashimi. I like that they serve quite a few varieties of sashimi compared to other buffets.

Malaysian

Our ever popular snack of satays, freshly grilled with a lovely peanut sauce.

Main Courses

Western & European

Oh my, oh my… I have to rave about the lamb rack! Tender and super scrumptious, I wish I have more room for these magnificent racks. Most of us unanimously agreed that the lamb was so good that even those who do not like lamb cannot resist a piece! This goes so well with the Japanese Purple Mashed Potatoes that was yummy… Super thumbs up for lamb racks and potatoes!!

Prime Rib was lovely too as it was perfectly cooked with a moist and pink center.

Pizza was crispy and made perfectly the way I like it!

Chinese

Japanese

Indian

I am a big fan of Indian food and was told the Chef Markhan prepares a mean Indian Cuisine. True enough; one bite of the lamb kebab with cheese naan was oh-so-good… sigh with happiness. No gamey lamb smell but tender and moist lamb minced perfectly spiced. Sandwich with warm and fluffy cheese naan and mint chutney, I wish I could devour more of these pairings!

I also love the mutton curry which was also sinfully paired with the fluffy cheese naan! The rich curry was full of spices but was not heavy, therefore, simply delightful to eat.

Tandoori Chicken was moist and well marinated. I adore this chicken with the Tomato Rice!

Malay

Desserts

There was such a wide spread of desserts that I do not even know which one to sample!

One must try is having a few scoops of ice cream with the tower of flowing chocolate… J

Let me introduce the two main chefs responsible for the international buffet spread.

Chef Tan Tik San, Executive Chef with 22 years experience in various reputable 5-star hotels. Chef Tan has led teams to cooking competitions and won several medals. Prior to joining Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, Chef Tan worked with P&O Cruises in Australia.

Chef Markhan S. Rawat, Indian Chef responsible for the lovely spread of Indian Cuisine noteworthy of royalty! Chef Markhan is such a lovely man who keeps feeding us with his spread of delicious specialties. I need his secret recipe for the fluffy cheese naan and lamb kebab!

There are many more choices but due to size constraint, I am highlighting some of the main spreads that ignite my interest. My verdict in short was that The Mill offers value for money with the quality and quantity of international fusion cuisine offered! The plethora of crustaceans and meats together with Oyster Feast with an elegant dining experience, think this sounds too good to be true? Believe it or not, I think it is one of the Best Buffets that I had so far!
