For the coming holy month, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel is taking diners on an exquisite Medan Kampung journey at the market-style set-up at Pasar Baru. With a mouthwatering spread encompassing over 100 local and international dishes, Executive Chef Alexander Chong and his culinary team is going all out in showcasing our melting pot of cuisines.
The new Pasar Baru is spacious and elegantly modern. Featuring several sectioned dining areas for more privacy dining, the ambiance exudes modern refinement with clean lines of comfort. Black backgrounds are elevated with colours and mixes of patterns. Live cooking stations are set along the main dining room, adding to the sensory dining experience for diners.
Tuck into Whole Roasted Lamb to start off your Medan Kampung buffet. Tender and juicy pieces of lamb, beautifully spiced up and served with gravy and sambals.
Let’s not forget this season’s festive favorites of Satay, Lemang, Ikan Panggang and Ayam Panggang!
Bowls of colorful Kerabus, Ikan Masin, Telur Masin and Ulams with Sambals are bound to be explosions of flavours on the palate with their piquant and complex flavours and textures.
From hot buffet warmers, a tempting array of rice and curries are beautifully spread out from Nasi Minyak, Ikan Bawal Goreng Berempah, Kambing Masak Merah to Ayam Penyet, Daging Lembu Panggang Sos Berlada, Sayur Tumis Kacang Panjang and more.
Many will not miss ladling out a bowl of piping hot Bubur Lambuk to warm up the tummy. It’s comfort food and a good dish to start after a long day of work and possibly fasting.
For some Chinese flavours, savor a spread of Fried Wanton, Ginger Beef, Sauté Prawn, Steamed Fish, Fried Rice and Fried Noodle. There is also that classic Szechuan Soup, a concoction of sour and spicy thick broth filled with lots of various ingredients for textures and flavours.
Hit the live stations as chefs will dish up classic favorites such as Chicken Rice, Asam Laksa, Curry Laksa and Vege Lok Lok upon your order. From fluffy chicken rice to slurping noodles in various gravies and tucking into an assorted array of vegetable lok lok and yong tau foo, these are dishes that are comfort crowd pleasers.
The Indian counter is filled with a kaleidoscope of copper and claypots filled with sumptuous flavours of Chicken Tikka, Fish Tikka, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Biryani, Naan and Dhall. Behind the open kitchen, chefs are also churning out fresh skewers of Tandoori and Tikka meats as well as hot Naan bread.
The Seafood station is hard to miss with its glorious spread of imported Yabby, Bamboo clams and succulent Crabs and Prawns. The yabbies’ were succulent and sweet that evening.
Sweet notes of Buah Kurma, Aneka Kuih Muih, Cakes, Puddings, Ais Kacang along with house special drinks are always a good way to end the meal. Order freshly made crepes from Crepe Station, topped it with berries and Soft Serve Ice Cream for that luscious note of satisfaction. The “Medan Kampung” buffet is available from 17 May – 14 June 2018, 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM168 nett per adult and RM84 nett for children aged 12 years and senior citizens aged 60 years and above. An Early Bird Deal with 20% discount is available for bookings made by 4 May 2018.
For larger groups, Corporate Festive Packages are available from RM148 nett per person, with a minimum booking of 200 persons required. Package bookings by 30 April 2018 are also entitled to a 10% Early Bird Corporate discount.
