A new J&R outlet at Jalan Bangkung featuring modern British gastro pub fare!
Kuala Lumpur’s favorite restaurant pub, Jarrod & Rawlins, opens its third existing branch in the upscale Bangsar neighborhood. Located in a shop lot on tranquil Jalan Bangkung, Jarrod & Rawlins Bangkung is modeled after a modern British gastro pub, serving wholesome and hearty food in a smart yet inviting environment suitable for all occasions.
“Jalan Bangkung is a great location for Jarrod & Rawlins as it is located in a cosy strip of a good neighbourhood,” says founder Denis Rawlins. “We are pleased to continue providing a relaxed environment with good food and drink, principles on which the Jarrod & Rawlins brand is built on.”
A recent invite to the soft launch of the outlet has me checking out the classy interior of chic sage green walls, comfy dark brown booths and furnitures, checkered floor and large mirrors along the walls. The well-designed ambience makes it an excellent place for business lunches, dinner parties and gatherings. There is even an al fresco area for those who enjoy the outside. Parking is also not too bad since there is quite a few spots around the neighborhood.
Jarrod & Rawlins is famous for its Sunday Roast or Full Works Breakfast which I had savored and found it utterly delectable. The menu at this outlet features Jarrod & Rawlins’ all-time favourite sausages, hearty sandwiches and gourmet burgers, along with satisfying pastas and well-liked pub classics.
We checkout the new outlet’s menu all creatively downsized in canapés while wines, champagnes and beers were served with it.
I particularly heart the Full Works breakfast downsized in a spoon… it was easy to eat and the wonderful medley of flavors featuring sausage, mushroom, quail egg, crouton and beans was delicious!
If Grilled Prime Tenderloin and Horseradish Chive Butter were sumptuous is a spoon, imagine what it would be at full portion? Wink!!
Love the rendition of Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs crowned with black caviar! Salty contrast against creamy eggs with toast and popping caviars are a classic recipe for enjoyment. Watermelon and Feta with Mint Salsa may sound strange but rest assured, sweet and salty does well together in this case.
Caramelized Pear and Walnut with Blue Cheese and Rocket may sound like a mouthful but flavors are robust and sweet with a little nutty aroma. Everyone’s favorite that night was the Breaded Pork Schnitzel and Onion Relish with Apple Sauce. Thick juicy piece of lean pork breaded to a crisp and dressed with sweet onion relish and sweet apple sauce that seems to goes so well with the pork… this is what I call heaven in a bite!
Chili fans, check out J&R’s Chili Con Carne served with tortilla. Spicy and flavorful from the minced meat, beans and spices, the chili is quite addictive once you had a bite!
Dynamite Chili Sausage Pizza was another favorite featuring a kick up spicy pizza filled with sausages and cheese. Absolutely yummy ala Malaysian style!
A fine selection of quality wine, champagne, whiskey and beer is available to complete a memorable dining experience.
One can check out their weekend brunch specialties like Egg Benedict, Eggs Florentine and more! Due to space constraints, the popular Jarrod & Rawlins delicatessen is not a feature at this branch but is easily found in its neighbouring branch in Damansara Heights and in their branch in Ampwalk. With Jarrod & Rawlins Bangkung in Bangsar, Jarrod & Rawlins now has branches in prime locations across Kuala Lumpur and one in Kota Kinabalu, offering a variety of dining experiences to cater to everyone.
